**POSITION TITLE:** Food Production Worker

**POSITION SUMMARY:**

Under general supervision, you will be responsible for ensuring that all of our customers, Sky Lakes employees, visitors, and patients are provided with outstanding quality food and service. You are required to meet and maintain high standards of food safety, quality, presentation, and service. As a Production Worker, you are responsible in preparing food for patient, cafeteria and catering functions, in accordance with department policies and procedures, production sheets, and in a manner that promotes quality and food safety. Must comply with department and hospital dress code and personal appearance policies. A food service department is teamwork dependent, and as such you are required to be a contributing member to the team. Dedication to Sky Lakes and the departments mission is essential for you to accomplish the degree of customer satisfaction required. Scheduled shifts and days off may vary, per work schedule.

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:**

* Ensures a high degree of patient satisfaction regarding timeliness of response, and manner in which patients are treated. Consistently provides excellent customer service to internal business partners and external customers. Accepts responsibility for solving problems to the customers satisfaction in a timely, effective, and respectful manner.

* Comprehensively understand therapeutic diets.

* Prepares food for patient, cafeteria, and catering functions following instruction from the Production Manager in a manner that promotes quality and food safety.

* Actively participates in maintaining quality assurance procedures throughout shift. Routinely tests effectiveness of sanitizer concentration, water temperatures, food temperatures, refrigerator/freezer temperatures.

* Meets all expectations of general and specific job tasks.

**MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:**

* Performs other duties as assigned.

**Minimum Requirements**

**QUALIFICATIONS:**

**REQUIRED:**

Ability to develop a sound understanding of food production techniques and therapeutic diets; Ability to follow and understand detailed written and verbal instructions; Ability to organize and prioritize work for different production areas that may be on different time schedules; Able to respond to changes in pace productively and efficiently. Ability to attend to detail; Ability to independently complete basic math required to extend recipes or production sheets; and Ability to function without direct supervision.

**PREFERRED:**

Knowledge of therapeutic food production and institutional food production utilizing recipes.

**NON-REG CERT:**

Food Handler's card required by end of month from 30 days of hire and maintained.

**TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:**

Medium physical demand level. Ability to push/pull up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds frequently, and 50 lbs occasionally. Requires ability to lift from floor to 72, (up to 15 pounds, occasionally. Ability to stand for an extended period of up to 2 hours continuously. Ability to ambulate with hot items in a safe manner. Ability to perform repetitive tasks for up to 2 hours continuously. Must be able to tolerate extremes of noise, temperature, and humidity. Must be able to work with others in congested areas. Reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing is a significant part of the job. Must be able to meet set timelines and work under pressure. Must be able to safely operate, clean and store equipment needed to complete tasks as assigned. Must be able to see food preparation tasks to completion.

**PAY RANGE: $12.00 - $17.99**
