Overview:

In Oregon, there are numerous children who are in desperate need of safe and loving homes. Family Solutions partners with Foster Plus, to actively recruit, train, and support families right here in our community, to provide therapeutic foster (proctor care) homes for these children. This is an opportunity for you to positively impact a child's life and to use your heart, home, and skills to make a difference. Family Solutions is seeking full-time & part-time contract proctor care respite providers.



Responsibilities:

Family Solutions Proctor Care Program is designed as an alternative placement for children and adolescents who have had limited success in other foster placements and/or treatment centers. The goal of the program is to work on issues related to each youths behaviors, psychosocial and emotional. Though discharge plans for each youth will differ, successful youth will be able to return to less restrictive settings which may include home, foster care, or emancipation.

Proctor Care Providers are supported by the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) as part of the Behavior Rehabilitative Services (BRS) program.

Proctor Care is similar to traditional foster care, but also offers enhanced supports such as:provided support including:

  • Hands on training
  • Daily check-ins with the Foster Plus Certifier
  • Case Management
  • Educational support
  • Therapy and Mentoring for the youth
  • 24 hour on-call support
  • 48 hours of respite per month


Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

    1. The individual must be 21 years of age or older.
    2. Be an Oregon resident
    3. The individual must possess good judgment, and demonstrate responsible, stable, and emotionally mature behavior.
    4. The individuals home and personal life must be stable and well managed.
    5. Conditions within the individuals home must provide for the safety and well-being of the child.
    6. The individual must have supportive relationships with other adults and children living within the home and community.
    7. The individual must not engage in criminal activity or abuse, or misuse, alcohol or other mood altering drugs.
    8. Complete and clear an extensive background check process
    9. The individual must be physically and mentally capable of caring for children. The following documentation may also be required:
      1. A copy of medical reports from a health care professional
      2. Results of mental health assessment oriented evaluations

Providers will receive a monthly stipend of $2,300 for full-time providers

Part-time providers will receive a stipend pro-rated based on daily/hourly services
