Discover a more connected Drill Bore Operator careerAt CableCom , as a Directional Drill Bore Operator , you'll operate a variety of equipment, used in installation/repair/maintenance activities associated with underground construction or utilities, in a safe and effective manner.Connecting you to great benefitsWeekly PaychecksPaid Time Off, Parental Leave, and HolidaysInsurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance)401(k) w/ Company MatchStock Purchase PlanEducation ReimbursementLegal InsuranceDiscounts on gym memberships, pet insurance, and much more!What you'll do as a Drill Bore OperatorSafely operate drill equipment on jobsite which may include but not limited to the following: Directional Drill and Vacuum Truck/TrailerRestore and/or landscape disturbed areas of the jobsiteDevelop and maintain a bore scheduleBe responsible for the site set-up and clean-upLoad and unload tools, materials and equipment on truckBe involved in new site Job Safety Analysis (JSA) prior to starting constructionSet up safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers and at times flagging trafficWhat you'll needTo be at least 18 years oldTo be authorized to work in the United States for this companyA valid standard Driver's License or a Class A Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsementAbility to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card.A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) record that is deemed acceptable by the companyAbility to maintain a safe work environmentAbility to work in all weather conditionsAbility to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistanceAbility to work over-time; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or on-callExperienced with drilling equipment and understand their capabilities and limitationsAbility to proficiently use locators to safely identify utilitiesExperience with drill set up and design processes preferredAbility to read and understand work orders, safety rules and operating instructionsAbility to climb up and down ladders, machinery, and other objectsYou may have previous construction or utility construction experienceSpecific vision abilities required to perform this job include but are not limited to: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus potentially near and/or far as needed. Employees in this job classification may be exposed to dust, fumes or other airborne pathogensEmployees may be exposed to toxic or corrosive chemicals as well as moving machinery parts and pieces. Remote work may be required; long driving and sitting will be required.
