The Jackson County Fleet Maintenance Shop offers a great job opportunity with a unique set of job tasks. The position requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently and be flexible regarding work assignments.
Work schedule: The workweek and hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Job Duties and Requirements
Job Tasks:

• Clean and maintain the shop area.
• Perform light warehouse.
• Operate forklifts.
• Work alone as well as in a team environment.
• Drive parts truck for County business.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• A combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.

Licenses, Certificates and Other Requirements:

• Valid Oregon State Drivers License with acceptable driving history

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

Environment:

• Work is performed primarily in a shop environment; occasional field environment with some travel;
• Exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, and all types of weather and temperature conditions;
• Incumbents will have a flexible work schedule which may require shortened or extended hours including evenings and weekends.

Physical:

• Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a mechanic shop environment; walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, and twist; push, pull, lift, and/or carry moderate to heavy amounts of weights (up to 75lbs);
• Operate assigned equipment and vehicles.
