We`re partnering with a national leader in marine and heavy construction to find a Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to join their field team. This is a 100% travel role supporting dredging, reclamation, and coastal construction projects nationwide on a 17-days-on / 11-days-off rotation. Travel, lodging, meals, and flights home are covered during rotations.
What You`ll Do:
-Implement and oversee project site safety, health, and environmental requirements.
-Support Project Managers and Supervisors in driving the company`s Incident- and Injury-Free safety culture.
-Conduct site audits, training, new-hire orientations, and daily/weekly safety reporting.
-Lead pre-shift hazard assessments, monitor work activities, and ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and EM-385-1-1 standards.
-Liaise with Division Safety, Health, and Environmental Managers to resolve compliance issues.
Required Qualifications (Must Meet ALL to Be Considered)

-High School Diploma required; Bachelor`s in Safety, Occupational Health, or Construction highly preferred
-5+ years of recent construction safety experience (marine, heavy civil, industrial, or oil & gas).
-Must hold an active OSHA-30 Construction certificate (attendance-based, not online academy).
-Valid Driver`s License & TWIC card (or ability to obtain).
-No employment gaps exceeding 12 months in recent safety experience.
-Strong knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and EM-385-1-1 (USACE) standards.
-Excellent written and verbal communication, leadership, and computer skills.
-Must be willing and able to travel 100% and work a 17-on/11-off rotation anywhere in the U.S.
Preferred Certifications (Highly Competitive):
-CHST (Board of Certified Safety Professionals - Active)
-OSHA Fall Protection #3115, Confined Space #2264, Respiratory #2225
-LOTO / Electrical Safety / Accident Investigation / First Aid-CPR
Not eligible: candidates with only lab, warehouse, or office safety experience, or those currently juggling multiple safety roles/projects.
