Position: General Manager

As a SONIC Drive-In restaurant General Manager, you lead your team to provide America with an exceptional food service experience. Your responsibilities include training and supporting employees, ensuring food safety and cleanliness, and delivering excellent customer service.

Position Summary

This is the highest management position at the drive-in, responsible for leading and managing operations and staff.

Essential Job Duties

  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, manage, direct, coach, lead, schedule, assign, discipline, and terminate employees.
  • Manage compensation levels according to company guidelines.
  • Supervise all aspects of drive-in operations to ensure an optimal guest experience.
  • Handle opening and closing duties, guest and employee issues escalations.
  • Manage food, labor, inventory, and supplies to maximize efficiency and quality.
  • Lead team meetings, maintain records, and prepare operational reports.
  • Develop and implement marketing and business performance plans.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of the facility and equipment.
  • Supervise vendor performance and ensure policy and legal compliance.
  • Maintain sanitation standards and ensure regular cleaning duties.
  • Perform various station duties as needed, including food prep, drive-thru, and sanitation tasks.

Time/Shift Expectations

Minimum 50 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced studies preferred.
  • At least three years of restaurant management experience, preferably in QSR.
  • Experience in managing restaurant shifts, recruiting, and employee management.
  • Knowledge of labor laws, health and safety regulations.
  • Strong computer, math, communication, problem-solving, leadership, and time-management skills.

Work Environment

Standing, bending, reaching, moving, and lifting in a restaurant environment with exposure to heat, cold, and cleaning chemicals.
