Please Note: This is an onsite position. Candidates must live or be willing to relocate to the southern Oregon area.
For the Telecom Systems Engineer position, the wage is based on years of relevant experience in the field, as well as the level of the position. Depending upon qualifications, we may hire at either the Telecom Systems Engineer level (preferred) or the Associate Telecom Systems Engineer level. Details on the qualifications for each level are noted below.
Salary Ranges per Level:
- Associate Telecom Systems Engineer: $76,523.00 - $105,227.00
- Telecom Systems Engineer: $90,085.00 - $123,885.00
Associate Telecom Systems Engineer Position Details The Associate Systems Engineer Telecom is responsible for the implementation and support of telephony and host systems and applications owned or operated by Asante. These systems include, but are not limited to telephone routing and switching, wired/wireless telephone equipment and clients, basic low voltage cabling, network equipment, fiber optics, telephony network protocols such as SIP, telephony management applications, equipment operating systems, and security associated with all telephony services. The Associate Systems Engineer Telecom supports the day-today operations of Asante's telephone systems, performs basic troubleshooting, routine system upgrades, and performance analysis, following standards including those set by more senior technical resources and ITS leadership.
Qualifications - Minimum of 3 years in designing, implementing, and supporting telephony systems and related applications in an enterprise environment is required.
Demonstrated knowledge in the following also required:
- Enterprise telephony system support; telephone management applications and systems monitoring and analysis tools; and the ability to assist with the design and management of voice network systems.
Basic Knowledge of the following required:
- Telephony operating systems such as Cisco CUBE IOS.
- Low voltage copper cable plant infrastructure deployment and support and of telephone security deployments.
- TCP/IP network protocols with focus on SIP and SNMP.
- Protocol analysis and troubleshooting using industry-standard tools and in telephony switching and routing.
- Current security authentication, including Active Directory.
- Creating phone trees and hunt groups and in managing voice mail, call detail recording, contact center, and similar telephony services.
- Power management for telephony equipment.
Education - Associate's degree, or the equivalent in education and experience is required.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in education and experience, preferred.
Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Office Certified Professional; and/or CompTIA Certification related to specialty.
Telecom Systems Engineer Level Position Details The Systems Engineer for Telecom is responsible for the analysis, design, implementation and support of telephony and host systems and applications owned or operated by Asante. These systems include but are not limited to telephone routing and switching, wired/wireless telephone equipment and clients, low voltage cabling, network equipment, fiber optics, telephony network protocols such as SIP, telephony management applications, equipment operating systems, and security associated with all telephony services. The Systems Engineer Telecom supports the day-to-day operations of Asante's telephony systems, performs advanced troubleshooting, systems upgrades, capacity and disaster planning, and performance analysis, following standards including those set by more senior technical resources and ITS leadership.
Qualifications - Minimum of 5 years in designing, implementing, and supporting network systems and related applications in a 7 x 24 mission-critical enterprise environment is required.
Demonstrated knowledge of the following also required:
- Enterprise telephony systems design; telephone management applications and systems monitoring and analysis tools; and telephone operating systems such as Cisco CUBE IOS.
- Low voltage copper cable plant infrastructure deployment and support; and telephone security deployments.
- TCP/IP network protocols with focus on SIP and SNMP.
- Protocol analysis and troubleshooting using industry-standard tools.
- Telephony switching and routing and the ability to assist with the design and management of complex voice network systems.
- Current security authentication, including Active Directory.

- Telephony services hosting including VMware virtual servers in Cisco UCS environments.

Education - Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent in education and experience is required.
- Master's degree in Information Technology or a related field, preferred.
Preferred Certifications: Cisco Collaboration CCNA certification; Microsoft Office Certified Professional; and/or CompTIA Certification related to specialty.
