As a field service technician for Freightliner Northwest (also known as "mobile mechanic"), you can expect to conduct on-road and customer on-site maintenance services by troubleshooting, diagnosing and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on heavy duty equipment. Run diagnostic tests and analyze results. Repair or replace vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems. Working knowledge of engines, transmissions, differential, A/ C and suspensions. Determine unit condition by conducting inspections & diagnostic tests, identifying deficiencies. Able to read schematics for electrical and air systems. Develop technical skills through training opportunities. Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications; make necessary adjustments if required. Ensure the cleanliness of the mobile service truck.
