Overview

AC Disaster Consulting provides compassionate, full-spectrum emergency management services including planning and preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation for public and private sectors before, during, and after disasters. Positions are contingent upon work availability, client requirements, and/or client approval. Ability to deploy anywhere in the US with 24-48 hours notice required.   • Compensation: In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the pay range for these roles is typically $16 to $55/hour (pending); however, several factors are considered when extending an offer, including role and responsibilities, work experience, education/training, and key skills.
  • Travel/Location: Onsite and remote, with deployment/travel as a requirement

Opportunities

We are building a cadre with dedicated professionals in areas including administrative/human resources support, air operations, site inspection, compliance, data analysis, cost estimation, finance, floodplain management, emergency management planning, FEMA public assistance, incident management, logistics, operations, planning, project management, and shelter operations.

Expected hours and travel

  • Schedule may vary. Work on evenings and weekends may be required. Dependability and punctuality are essential.
  • Travel up to 50% is expected; deployment to client sites for extended periods is required.

Physical demands

  • Mobility on-site with clients; sitting or standing for extended periods.
  • Prolonged computer use; ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively as needed.

Work environment

  • May work in an office, home, or deployed to field sites concluding in adverse weather conditions.
  • On-site with clients (e.g., EOC, hospitals, debris sites, local government buildings).
  • All AC Disaster Consulting positions are remote work site positions with the home location agreed upon at hire. Any site changes require HR and leadership approval for business registration and payroll tax purposes.

Requirements

Minimum requirements, experience & skills

  • Experience or background in applicable roles
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to deploy to sites on short notice for extended periods
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Experience with mobile technology
  • Emergency response/recovery experience
  • Solid knowledge of emergency management concepts, principles, and techniques
  • Ability to work independently, in a team, and under tight deadlines

Preferred experience & skills

  • Knowledge of FEMA programs/policy
  • Working knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS-100-800)
  • Certifications, credentials, training, or education relevant to the role
  • Experience in an Emergency Operations Center (EOC)
  • Active FEMA badge
  • Other related talents and experiences in emergency management
