Job Description
Education:
• High school diploma or G.E.D, and zero to four years previous experience.
Requirements:
• Previous administrative and/or customer service experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math and computer skills (MS Office including Excel).
• Prefer scale and calculation experience.
Summary:
• The Scale House Attendant serves as the first point of contact for customers depositing waste at a client facility. This role is responsible for greeting customers, verifying load contents, calculating payments, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• The attendant plays a key role in maintaining smooth traffic flow and upholding safety and environmental standards.
Responsibilities:
• Greet and direct customers and site traffic in a courteous and professional manner.
• Accurately calculate and process payments for waste deposits.
• Inspect incoming loads to ensure they are safe and free of prohibited materials.
• Enforce safety rules and ensure all customers and employees wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Scale House.
• Complete administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and report generation.
• Communicate any issues or concerns to the immediate supervisor promptly.
• Attend company-sponsored training and meetings as required.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including minor customer service responsibilities.
• Maintain a friendly, service-oriented approach in all interactions with customers, employees, and vendors.
