Overview
The Category Merch Specialist provides specialized merchandising and sales support within a designated category. This role focuses on accurate system input, promotional planning, pricing support, and coordination with internal teams, vendors, and retailers to support merchandising strategies.

Job Description
The Category Merch Specialist is responsible for executing merchandising support tasks that require accuracy, organization, and timely communication across multiple systems.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Entering and maintaining promotional, assortment, shelf, and pricing data in merchandising systems
  • Communicating promotional and pricing information to retailers and regional teams
  • Supporting the Category Manager with planning, record keeping, contracts, deals, and promotions
  • Acting as a point of contact for customer inquiries and coordinating with internal planning teams
  • Processing exception orders and completing order entry
  • Reviewing and approving vendor promotions
  • Gathering information and creating spreadsheets and reports
  • Developing, maintaining, and reviewing basic Excel templates
  • Providing vendor support, including coordinating samples or product pickup
  • Performing additional related duties as assigned

Required Skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail with accurate data entry across multiple systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal teams, vendors, and customers
  • Basic understanding of business planning and category management preferred

Education Requirements
  • 2-year degree or equivalent experience required
  • 0–2 years of retail and/or supply chain merchandising experience preferred
