Position Title: Sales Merchandiser (Retail Beverage Merchandising)

Location: Medford, OR

Clearance Requirements:
Must successfully pass background check, MVR screening (no DUIs), and drug screening prior to start.

Position Status: Contract (Temporary - coverage assignment)

Pay Rate: $17.00/hour + $0.59 per mile (mileage reimbursement between store locations; commute excluded)

Position Description:

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Sales Merchandiser to support retail beverage accounts across the Medford, Grants Pass, and Ashland areas. This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy working independently, staying active, and building strong in-store relationships while driving product visibility and sales performance.

As a Retail Merchandiser, you will ensure beverage products are stocked, rotated, and displayed according to planograms and merchandising standards. You will collaborate closely with sales representatives and store leadership to optimize shelf presence, maintain inventory accuracy, and enhance the overall customer experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in retail merchandising, field service, consumer packaged goods (CPG), grocery merchandising, beverage distribution, and route-based roles.

Schedule:
6:00 AM - 2:30 PM or 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Currently weekends plus one weekday (schedule may vary based on business needs; hours expected to increase mid-March)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel to multiple retail store locations within assigned territory using personal vehicle
  • Stock, rotate, and merchandise beverage products to ensure optimal shelf presentation
  • Build and maintain point-of-sale (POS) displays and promotional setups
  • Reset shelves and cold boxes according to planograms and merchandising standards
  • Place accurate pricing and promotional signage
  • Transport product using hand trucks and pallet jacks
  • Organize and maintain back-stock areas to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Service approximately 5-8 retail accounts per day
  • Submit daily merchandising reports and activity updates
  • Communicate competitive activity and in-store observations to leadership
  • Maintain professional, customer-focused relationships with store personnel
Required Skills / Education:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Reliable personal vehicle with active auto insurance
  • Ability to pass background screening, MVR check, and drug test
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and reach throughout shift
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, route-based environment
  • Professional communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ year experience in retail merchandising, grocery, CPG, beverage distribution, or route sales
  • Experience reading and executing planograms
  • Familiarity with inventory management and shelf resets
  • Prior experience in customer-facing retail or field service roles
Work Environment & Dress Code:

  • Customer-facing retail environment (grocery/liquor stores)
  • Business casual: khaki pants, polo shirt, closed-toe non-slip shoes
  • May enter refrigerated storage areas as needed
