Under the supervision of the Health Center Manager, the Health Center Receptionist is responsible for providing front office support and assisting in day-to-day clinic operations while following established procedures.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties:
Greet clients, answer phones, refer calls, and communicate with back-office staff.
Schedule appointments for reproductive health including but not limited to contraceptive and abortion services.
Input and update client information in the electronic health record (EHR) data system and chart, as applicable.
Enter medical visit and fee collection information into EHR data system, ensuring information is correct.
Assess and verify patient insurance benefits, health plan authorization, or RH Access Fund.
Collect fees/donations, complete appropriate forms and obtain signatures, and reconcile billing charges daily per PPSO policy.
Understand pairing of ICD 9 & CPT for accurate coding of services.
Prepare and ensure accuracy of bank deposit and timely bank drops per health center protocol.
Maintain patient records, filing systems, data systems, patient logs and records transfers.
Participate in all forms of family planning to meet the needs of the patient(s) and comply with established protocols.
Assist the clinic manager with new employee training.
Adhere to affiliate goals and policies on professionalism, wait time in-clinic and on the phone, and the system for addressing client complaints.
Always provide high quality customer service and deliver services in a manner that provides objectivity and supports the entirety of services provided by PPSO.
Other duties as assigned.
