What you're applying for

We're looking for a highly motivated Car Claims Advocate, with a lot of positive energy and a genuine passion for helping others, to help us settle auto property damage liability claims quickly and efficiently, surpassing customer expectations along the way.

This role is critical in ensuring our customers receive empathetic and expert support during a challenging time, directly contributing to Lemonade's mission of making insurance lovable.

In this role you'll

• Investigate and process auto property damage claims according to company policies and state or federal laws, ensuring fair and timely resolutions
• Gather and evaluate police reports, records, and witness statements, using your investigative skills to determine claim legitimacy and liability
• Interview claimants, witnesses, and other parties, explaining coverage decisions in plain English without relying on insurance jargon
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all claim activity, ensuring compliance and transparency
• Collaborate with legal counsel and other departments when needed, supporting the swift and professional resolution of complex claims
• Handle Theft and Fire losses, demonstrating expertise in varied claim scenarios
• Contribute to team goals and KPIs, playing a key part in driving overall results and continuous improvement

What you'll need

• 1+ years of property damage claim-handling experience
• Knowledge of insurance laws and regulations
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Proficiency with claims management software and Google Workspace
• A desire to work in a unique, dynamic, and fast-paced startup environment
• A surplus of empathy, patience, and positivity
• Comfortable with and adaptable to new technology and business tools
• Lemonade expects all advocates to have and maintain a license in good standing. If you do not currently have a license, our team will work with you to obtain the license within your first 3 months
• College degree or equivalent experience
• Ability to work in a remote environment
• Enthusiasm about learning and adapting to the exciting world of AI - a commitment to exploring this field is a fundamental part of our culture

Lemonade's US base salary range for this full-time position is $51,000 - $58,500 plus equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
