Job Title: Quality Inspector Job Description

As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for quality assurance activities related to the repair, build-up, and refurbishment of heavy-lift military helicopters (CH-53E) and commercial operations helicopters (S64). This includes both the aircraft and related overhauled parts. This role offers a stable career with opportunities for learning new skills and advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Receive task cards in the morning and review blueprints and documents for scheduled inspection activities.

  • Select appropriate tooling from the tool crib or personal toolbox.

  • Perform inspections using micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and other precision tools.

  • Coordinate with Quality leadership and mechanics to determine necessary follow-up repairs.

  • Inspect parts, components, assemblies, major assemblies, aircraft repairs, and processes within the assigned maintenance facility, including in-process and final inspections.

  • Determine if products and services meet continued airworthiness requirements and certify accordingly.

  • Maintain compliance with FAA regulations and company policies.

  • Perform audit functions within the organization as required.

  • Conduct Receiving Inspection duties as necessary.

Essential Skills

  • 1+ years of Quality experience in an MRO or Depot-level aviation repair environment.

  • Familiarity with inspection tools such as calipers and micrometers.

  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and airworthiness standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • A&P license preferred.

  • Experience with structures/sheet metal preferred.

  • Experience with CH-53 or other mid to heavy-lift helicopters preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment includes aircraft hangars and shop areas located in Medford, OR, and Central Point, OR, which are approximately 10 minutes from each other. These facilities include both civilian and military shop hangars. The day shift runs Monday through Friday from 0600 to 1630, with five-hour shifts currently in place, likely to revert to a standard schedule later. The facility has an advanced electronic tool crib with access to all necessary tools.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CENTRAL POINT, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $52.00/hr.
