SUN Community Schools is a Multnomah County initiative that aligns community partners and resources to help reduce barriers that keep students from being successful in school and in life. Within each SUN Community School, the collective efforts of the school community, youth, parents, local businesses, faith communities, libraries, school districts and community organizations create a network to offer programs and activities to uplift students' academic engagement & social-emotional development, meaningful family engagement, and resource navigation to access available community resources.
Schools Uniting Neighborhoods (SUN) Community Schools are a school-based service delivery model that provides a comprehensive set of services to the school communities we serve. IRCO's SUN Community Schools offer a variety of programs that support the student's education and family stability. SUN Support Staff work with the SUN Site Manager to facilitate and run programs like after school classes, parent workshops, school events, and more. Programs are in-person, located at school sites around outer N/NE/SE Portland.
Minimum Job Specific Qualifications:
Positions at this level are not responsible for any supervisory functions, or responsibilities, but may occasionally be asked to orient and/or train new employees or volunteers.
Engage fully in recommended professional development, as well as other assigned or required training activities. This engagement can also include participation in optional activities that embrace IRCO's mission, vision, and values-based initiatives.
