What you bring to the table

  • Prepare, cook, and present food according to specifications and guest requests.
  • Coordinate food orders to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
  • Follow safe food handling procedures at all times, including proper handwashing, temperature control, and avoiding cross-contamination.
  • Receive, rotate, label, and store products according to FIFO guidelines.
  • Utilize kitchen tools properly, including knives, scales, thermometers, and measuring tools.
  • Read and follow all recipes accurately; record waste appropriately.
  • Prioritize and complete assigned station tasks, side work, and set-up for maximum efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation and assist in overall kitchen cleanliness.
  • Cross-train on all Line, Prep, and Dish stations; coworkers when needed.
  • Ask for help whenever needed to maintain smooth operations.
  • Uphold a harassment-free and professional environment through respectful communication.
  • Respond calmly and appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Notify management of low inventory and maintain proper stock levels.
  • Understand, comply with, and enforce all company policies and safety standards.
  • Jump in wherever needed to support the team and maintain smooth kitchen operations. (Other duties as assigned)

Must-haves, nice-to-haves, and maybe some bonus points

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; culinary degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Six (6) months to one (1) year minimum experience as a Prep/Line Cook in a full-service, high-volume restaurant; knowledge of relevant cooking techniques required.
  • Good reading, writing, math, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Good judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Health permit/food safety certification required; Alcohol Awareness certification if applicable.
  • Commitment to maintain a safe, sanitary, and professional kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drugfree workplace policies.

During your shift, you'll spend most of your time standing, walking, reaching, and moving throughout the kitchen. This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, maintain balance on potentially slippery surfaces, climb stairs and ramps, and work quickly in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Clear vision, hearing at normal speaking levels, and the ability to focus under pressure are essential.
