The Opportunity

The position of Center Operations helps to create a smooth running and welcoming office environment by providing support for the staff, the Executive Director of Resolve, and a cadre of highly trained volunteers and student interns. This includes friendly, professional communication through email, phone, and in-person reception.

Center Operations helps to maintain all points of contact for Resolve including the webpage and social media sites. To better understand Resolve services and mission, the newly hired Center Operations will be expected to attend basic skills training in mediation and restorative justice.

Description of Duties

Center Management and Program Support

  • Maintain conference room scheduling
  • Invoice for services provided (QuickBooks)
  • Track and enter data, as well as run reports; donors (Salesforce), services (Kintone)
  • Prepare and proof training materials
  • Track and order office supplies
  • Prepare staff meeting agendas
  • Manage registration for trainings, programs, and events
  • Donor "thank yous"
  • Programmatic Support
  • Provide navigational support for remote zoom trainings

Center Communications

Help maintain all contact points to Resolve including:

  • Phone and email communications, including sensitively listening to clients who may be in distress
  • Front desk welcoming
  • Email marketing and outreach, Facebook
  • Basic website maintenance
  • Newsletter (MailChimp)
  • Support seasonal fundraising

Volunteer Intake and Connection

  • Process volunteer applications and maintain records
  • Work with Resolve staff to organize regular in-service opportunities, and specialized training for developing volunteer of trainers and coaches, mediators, facilitators and restorative justice practitioners
  • Support volunteer appreciation and community building events

Required Skills/Experience

 

Candidate must be:

  • Friendly and helpful with a professional demeanor
  • Very computer literate
  • Experience with MailChimp, Facebook and Zoom
  • Organized, attentive to detail, thorough in all aspects of work
  • Able to follow oral and written instructions and adept at problem solving
  • Willing to be a part of a collaborative team
  • An effective communicator with solid writing and editing skills
  • Respectful of clients and their needs and circumstance

  • Able to operate standard office equipment, including but not limited to telephone systems, scanners, copiers
  • Capable of handling and managing confidential information and files

About Resolve

Founded in 1990, Resolve serves southern Oregon communities by helping people manage conflict through mediation, restore harmed relationships and communities through restorative justice, and advance peace through education and training.

Resolve transforms the way the diverse people and communities of southern Oregon manage and resolve conflict and repair from harm.

Resolve’s mediation services include dispute resolution in areas of family relations, schools, property, workplace, neighbor-to neighbor, landlord/tenant, and foreclosure avoidance facilitation. Resolve provides mediation in partnership with the Jackson County Circuit Court, for small claims and FED (Forcible Entry and Detainer) eviction proceedings.

Resolve’s restorative justice programs work in partnership with juvenile justice and youth corrections with at-risk youth, crime victims, community members, and those impacted by juvenile crime. Restorative justice practices are brought to regional K-12 schools to help maintain a safe learning environment by strengthening relationships and teaching how to repair them when harm is done. Student bystander empowerment and bullying intervention education and restorative justice implementation are part of Resolves school-based education programs and services.

Requirements for Employment

  • Criminal background check
  • Valid Oregon driver’s license or the ability to obtain one
  • Employees who work with community partners including but not limited to courts, community justice and schools may be subject to drug testing.

Status                         Hourly, Non-Exempt, Full time, 32 hours, eligible for benefits

Pay                              $20 per hour, $1,000 signing bonus after six months

Benefits                      Excellent benefits include a four-day work week, health insurance, a retirement match, generous time off, 11 paid holidays, and a warm, positive, team environment doing meaningful work to serve our community.

Time                            Monday-Thursday, 9 am - 5 pm. Occasional evenings, Friday, and weekend work may be required.

Start Date                   Negotiable

Preference and additional pay, for Spanish/English bi-lingual skill.
